In my journey in the service industry, I was lucky enough to work with an amazing team at a bar called The Berry & Rye. This mysterious, obscure, and unique bar offers, in my opinion, the best cocktails in Omaha, NE. The menu is a diverse and whimsical offering of what the best of the season brings to the table, combined with the creativity and expertise of the staff. The GM, a mixology guru and all-around awesome guy, knows more about cocktails than anyone I have ever met. I learned so much about cocktails there that I was able to create some of my own libations, one of which I’m going to share today. This is a complex cocktail, with flavors that layer. I have a personal fascination and love of Armagnac, which is where this recipe started. Don’t be threatened by the cherry juice in this drink, as it adds a necessary fruitiness that, when combined with the other ingredients, makes for a boozy and delicious cocktail. Enjoy this at your next party, or fill out a free quote request and we'll share the love with you.
1.5 oz quality Armagnac - think Castarède Armagnac VSOP
.5 oz Frangelico liqueur
1 oz fresh cherry juice
.75 oz fresh lime juice
.5 oz Etna amaro
Combine all ingredients in a shaker, add ice, and shake for 15 seconds. Strain over a nick and nora glass. Sniff, sip, and enjoy.
